(And "to a new generation of consoles".)

Which is a polite way of saying, "hey Series X cats, you won't be too far left behind, but we're still hanging with the cool kid... to be seen".

As was the kickoff point for Sony's PlayStation 5 tell-all (but not really), Rockstar revealed that a next next-gen version of our beloved GTAV would be gracing the new console, and with a number of updates and additions, to boot.

"Technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements" lead a laundry list of expectations for the near seven year-old title when it drops for the next generation of consoles, with the PS5 being the lead release platform from a timed perspective (natch), while new content and options around the wildly successful GTA Online have also been touched on.
And for the massive and vibrant community of Grand Theft Auto Online players worldwide, the journey through the ever-evolving, shared world of GTA Online will continue on to the new generation with more new updates including additional GTA Online content exclusive to the new consoles and PC. There will also be a new standalone version of GTA Online coming in the second half of 2021, which will be available for free exclusively for PlayStation 5 players during the first three months.

Additionally, all PlayStation Plus members on PlayStation 4 will get GTA$1,000,000 (deposited into their in-game Maze Bank account within 72 hours of log-in) each month they play GTA Online until the launch of GTA Online on PlayStation 5.
Check out a trailer highlighting the above, embedded below.

Some of that non-existent single player DLC that was promised would be nice instead of a re-release on the new consoles. That Shark Card in game currency must be really good for them.
