We're now three games deep into our AusGamers 10 Best Games of 2018 collaborative list, and three days into the New Year (a big shout out to my son, Lanik, who turned a whopping seven today). And if you're just tuning in, from New Year's day we've been revealing a new game for our Top 10 list, each day, as a celebration of last year's best games, and the New Year ahead.

We've already revealed Forza Horizon 4 at position number 10:
Which brings us to Forza Horizon 4, the latest entry in the series, and one that manages to not only make England look inviting (sick burn), but has also changed how you attack the game with changing seasons, that completely reshape parts of the environments, and even unlocks previously locked areas...
Which was followed on by Indie darling Ashen at position number 9 from New Zealand-based A44 Games:
Art-direction and presentation here is absolutely beautiful, and helps Ashen stand as a unique slice of gaming across all genres, and is polished to the nines.
And naturally, as is the numerical order of things, today we're revealing our number 8, but as has been the case with each subsequent news post, to find out who makes the eighth grade, you'll need to click through to the Top 10 Best Games of 2018 feature proper. And as always, feel free to share your thoughts on the list as it's unravelled. (Note, the Comments field below the feature itself is a centralised place for commenting.)
