In a new Blizzard job posting looking for a Senior Software Engineer, the description hints at possible remasters coming for both Warcraft III and Diablo II. Yeah, this is pretty exciting news! This is in addition to the existing StarCraft HD remaster that is coming this year. It's hard to read the following and not take it that Warcraft III and Diablo II remasters are on the way. Compelling stories. Intense multiplayer. Endless replayability. Qualities that made StarCraft, Warcraft III, and Diablo II the titans of their day. Evolving operating systems, hardware, and online services have made them more difficult to be experienced by their loyal followers or reaching a new generation. Really, it's the "We’re restoring them to glory" bit that has us believing that both titles will be making their way to the Blizzard App/Battle.net in the future. The big question though will be whether or not these games will be given the full remaster treatment ala StarCraft HD, or simply updated and upscaled to run on modern hardware. And if we had to pick, we definitely want to see both games spruced up like this. If Blizzard were to release two additional complete remasters in addition to Starcraft in the same year they might just win the internet. So expect that maybe one or both of these might be pushed back to next year. But either way, it'd be great to see Warcraft III and Diablo II back in the spotlight! |

Awesome news, I would love to play remasters of both of those. The changes they've already made to StarCraft (and releasing it for free) have made for a lot of really enjoyable games that are easy to find or start.

This is perfect timing for me now that I can Blizzard again seeing as the missus is no longer working there :) Can't wait if it's true! |

This is perfect timing for me now that I can Blizzard again seeing as the missus is no longer working there :) I was offered an interview for a job there late last year but revoked my application after being taking it up seeing the quality of their products fall sharply off a cliff in a way I didn't want to get involved in, and hearing some less than encouraging things about the working conditions/expectations. In addition to discovering I hadn't really done my due-diligence in terms of California being a right-to-work state, did I do the right thing? :) |

Quality of their products doesn't seem to have fallen off at all? I've got a few friends who work there and they have nothing but good things to say about the working conditions, but I guess you'll find disgruntled employees at any company anywhere if you look |
