Topic: Bungie Responds to the Question of Why Destiny 2 Will Only R...

After unveiled as the most powerful console on the market (or soon to be), people quickly began to question the reasoning behind a statement from Bungie that noted that both the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X versions of the game will run at 30fps -- regardless of resolution. So that means no 4K 60fps on the Xbox One X. The question then became, as a game with both marketing and content exclusivity with Sony, is Bungie being forced to ensure that no other console version outperforms the PlayStation 4?

A strange, yet fair assessment to make. After all, with the marketing might of Sony it would look a little weird if Destiny 2's performance was noticeably superior on a competitor's platform.

And so the question became rumour and the rumour became legend, with Destiny 2 Project Lead Mark Noseworthy taking to Twitter to clarify.

Which states that a lot of Destiny 2 relies on CPU performance, hence the 30fps cap. Adding that the studio would not hold back game performance on any platform and are currently evaluating 4K for Xbox One X.

Fair enough, but based on the current Xbox One X spec we see no reason why Destiny 2 couldn't run at 1080p 60fps on the console.

Anyway, it seems that both the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X versions of the game will be identical. With PC coming out on top, supporting 60fps, as highlighted in a new extended gameplay video from Nvidia's E3 booth.

Ahh PC, you'll never let us down.
