Which, if you're reading this with at least a primary school level of education, you can figure out that it means Porsche cars making an appearance in all foreseeable Forza games. The partnership, a six-year deal, was announced at a fancy auto show earlier today alongside a Forza Horizon 3 Porsche Car Pack. Which is nice, because my metallic pink VL turbo needs a bit of a break. For those that know their cars and their car games, having a Porsche appear is a pretty big deal as the company tends to remain pretty exclusive and somewhat reclusive with when and how its vehicles are represented in the digital realm. "By having Microsoft as our partner, we have the opportunity to take the pleasure of driving a Porsche and making it an experience in the virtual world", says Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board responsible for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG. "Racing games and esports connect the real and virtual worlds and enable us to gain further access to the young target group. It means that they can develop a passion for Porsche even before buying their first sports car". Here's hoping that this doesn't mean that access to Porsche vehicles will only come with expensive DLC car packs. |
