I dont want my brain turning into Sheeple Soup. Haha, sucker. You must have missed the recent massive study on this very topic which found the effect so small it may as well be non-existent. |

I have a mobile, but I very rarely use it. I'm not on a plan and I'm not on prepaid. I just get billed for what I use, and some months, that is zero.
If people call/text me, I usually wait a while before even reading it or finding out who called. Often the texts are something that didn't need to be said. I feel sorry for people who have their phone as a sort of ball and chain, being "in the office" 24/7. Especially people that have spent hundreds of dollars on a handset, buy a new handset every couple years, or own one of those internet phones like a blackberry or an iphone... seems like that is a step in the wrong direction for this technology. We should be at a point where it's just a little lipstick sized thing like in star wars "threepio - where could he be??" and no mobile phone networks or plans. Computers and stuff - that's fine to get smaller, as long as they don't lose power and potential - but trying to make these bastard things that are like three times the size of a phone with some half-arsed computer thing in it... nah... |

I don't have a mobile phone. I only ever use mine to sms friends to see if they're home or if my car breaks down, other than that it sits in my bag unseen and unheard. |

I sometimes pretend I'm on the phone to someone when really I'm not.
I think it makes me look like a successful business man who has his finger on the pulse. I sometimes pretend I'm barking orders at my minions so I look real badass and stuff. |

Why dont try having a conversation with a real person on the bus ?
I suppose they too are using an electronic device to desocialise themselves from human contact. May as well be all walking around in sterile plastic tubes. We are all becoming androgenous drones, slaves building somebody elses Pyramid. |

Why dont try having a conversation with a real person on the bus ? Bahaha nice one, I have nothing to offer a random person on the bus and they have nothing to offer me. I've only ever been spoken to by 2 people on the bus: 1) The first started with a "hello, how are you, what do you do?" etc before finally getting to their point "so I go to religous group on sundays, perhaps you'd like to come along sometime?" 2) The second I was listening to a podcast and was interrupted by a clearly mentally handicapped fellow sitting opposite me who apparently was super excited to tell me "oops I farted" You didn't take the or 200/204 bus between coorparoo and southbank in the mid 2000's by any chance faceman? |

I have no Home-Phone and only a Mobile. I use to have the same problem when I had a home phone (Everyone calling the Mob anyway) and I didn't get service (Optus) so I usually got messages on the way to work that 'so and so' called and Blah. All of them had my home number, and new I didn't get Mob service at home... I have to get some less retarded friends. Get full service now though, so Ditched the Home phone all together. P.s. Work pays for all Mob calls, so there is no reason for me to pay for a home phone, when Work pays for all my call needs. Also, I dont like the tards that update their facebook all night when you're out on the town, sometimes updating/commenting/talking to people that they're out in town with... Or when camping, leave that s*** at home. |

I find it lame that people have to post s*** that happens in their daily lives on the internet, unless of course it's something awesome like rock climbing or sky diving or driving a really fast car around a track or something. The s*** some people put on their facebook amazes/annoys me. Really? You forgot your car keys but took the bus to work so it's all fine? WHO CARES?
msn I agree with but replace msn with any IM client. it's good for short, frequent messagse & funny urls/links that don't warrant an email. |

Home phones are a rip off - i get $350 of calls on my mobile for $49. On my land line telstra take $25 before i even make a call - wake up! home phones are for people who want to waste money. I'm forced to have one for ADSL but be more the happy if I never saw the thing again. If you don't want people calling you turn it off or put it on silent and ignore, I do it all the time. If my friends bitch i just say i cbf calling you back. If your always lookin at your phone maybe it's YOU that needs a life mate... i only look at mine to tell the time cause i dont like wearin watches. If you are sick of being on call get a new job ;) |

Anyone who has ever used LiveJournal, any blogs, MySpace, FaceBook, Twitter or the status thing on their IM software needs to shut the f*** up ASAP. 5 years ago I never could have imagined there could be anything worse than blogging, and then they invented f***ing MICRO-blogging?! f*** me.. Back on topic, I yearn for the days of not having a mobile again, I was like the last person I knew to not have one, it was great! Till I needed one for work.. :( But now that I just use mine like a mini portable laptop for surfing and music when I'm out and bored I don't mind them so much ;D |

Why dont try having a conversation with a real person on the bus ? because I much prefer tearing up small pieces of paper into tiny bits and sprinkling it on the head of the person sitting in front of me. How can you not have a mobile phone? What if family need to contact you asap? work have a serious situation that you can help with? |

I had one briefly in highschool, which I smashed against a brick wall because the missus (now the Mrs Missus) wouldn't stop calling me when I was at lans. Then I went without until Feb this year when I got sick of not being able to contact people while I'm out. Just don't give out your phone number and it's fine :P And get use to "who's this" everytime you call someone. |

I don't have a mobile and haven't had one for 10 years. I don't see the need to be constantly talking to people/friends. If they want to talk then call me on the phone. No facebook/twitter either. Although, I will be moving in the next 6 weeks so I'll be looking at changing from largepuddle to somewhere else even though they have just dropped their prices for adsl2 (50G - $69.95 and 200G $89.95). I am open to suggestions... |
