I've also just started leveling a holy priest and f*** ME PEOPLE ARE STUPID c***S.

Yep, I feel your pain, I've been playing a holy/disc priest and some people are just utterly retarded. I especially like when I'm trying to rez someone and the tank pulls more stuff as well, that always makes me happy. On the other hand though, I much prefer being the healer in a retarded group than a dps, like back when I used to play my mage. At least as the healer, you have some kind of control, you have the ability to maybe drag a crap group through the instance anyway with uber pro heals. I always find it really satisfying when I drag a s*** tank or a s*** group through an instance successfully, its like hard mode for instances :P

I want to do ICC25 in naxx epics, what could go wrong.

I'm sorry, did I step on your e-penis? Obviously you can't dive into the hardest raid in the game without being adequately geared, but GS is a meaningless indicator of that. A person could be wearing all pvp gear and have a good GS. They could have no enchants or gems or completely wrong enchants and gems, and still have a good GS. A healer could be completely kitted out in DPS gear, and still have a good GS. Its utterly meaningless and no indication that the person is any good at playing, or appropriately geared. Its like Ticman said, a good player who can really play the f*** out of their class can beat a better geared s*** player any day of the week, gear isn't a substitute for skill.

Having said that, my GS is almost 5k anyway just from buying gear with emblems from running heroics, so if people can almost reach that level without doing a single raid, how is it any sort of indicator that they're going to even be any good in a raid? All it is is an indicator of how much spare time they have (which co-incidentally, I have had a lot of lately).

I find getting bogged down in all the mathematics going on behind the scene just sucks all the fun out of the game. My old guild during BC was fantastic, it was just a group of people who weren't obsessed with being well geared or hitting arbitrary requirements before raiding, we were just a bunch of guys who knew how to play our classes, read up on the fights beforehand and then went ok, lets try and kill that s***. We got through SSC, TK and Hyjal while we were what could be considered "undergeared", cos we f***ing rocked. Then we made the mistake of merging with another guild which was full of arrogant, power-playing c*******s and it all went to s***.

We wiped twice the other day in FoS on the last boss because some of the people there were running it for the first time and didn't know about mirrored soul. I was healing and it was impossible to get heals up in time

My tree owned healing. In fact in most cases it was too easy until they nerfed our mana.

Khel : you are right about skill and so on but sometimes having a tank with the right amount of HP really means the difference between a wipe or kill. If you run into some raids were everyone is undergeared it ends up taking three times as long if you even finish the raid. I got so over doing totc etc that I only took geared people because I was not about to waste three hours when I could do it an one hour. Unfortunately I would take geared and achievement bearing people first all the time. I am speaking from experience here.

^- this.. having a good guild is monumental in transforming WoW into a fantastic social and gaming experience. In vanilla I was in great guild that would get together and start doing MC/BWL/NAXX and have a ball. TBC I joined up with some RL friends on different servers (all relocated to the one) and had a blast going through Kara, TK, SSC and Hyjal (never got to BT or Sunwell though). Then in WotLK I had a bunch of other RL friends since high school days all come onto the one server and we rocked Naxx & Ulduar pretty hard as a group of friends together.

The problem is when you need to start pugs .. it's a shame content some of the older content (and even stuff like Naxx & Ulduar) isn't given a second thought unless its the weekly raid quest as they were great fun.

No, you didn't. I've only just started playing again but even I can see the benefit of the gearscore and achievement links. Sure, there is definately some negatives with being a good or player knowing the fights on an alt etc etc, but when you wipe on the second boss in the instance and everyone leaves and you're stuck locked to an instance not being able to do it again for another week ... do you really want no barriers on that? Rule of pug is generally bring the gear not the player, so you can have a nice smooth run without people whining and whinging and leaving, then being stuck.

It's not a good indication, sure, but it's the only real indication available that even gives someone trying to organise a pug any idea at all about the player.

Seriously, if you want to raid why are you pugging? Join a casual raid guild, even use them as a feeder if you want, and move on.

On the topic of maths and not bothering with gear and stuff, there's some really handy tools which basically tell you what to to/get, or where your gear is wrong.

In game addon which is much more informative than gearscore: http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/elitistgroup.aspx

This is why you should just quit wow guys and move onto some better games like I did. Its the same s*** over and over again. I did naxx, then i did ulduar, then i did totc, then I Did icecrown. Then everyone talks about the expansion and all the new gear you can get and bla bla bla.

Sweet what is your realm and toons name?

After all ICC has only been unlocked for 6 weeks, so you'd most likely have a realm first in clearing ICC 10 or 25, since you must a quit the game for a while to take up a new game. Or are you just trolling?

As for those that can't get a run in old content, www.wow-heroes.com check to see if you are actually geared fro the instance. If your on Silvermoon Horde what is ya toon and I will pst you if you want a run.

I never said I had cleared ICC. I had done the first wing and some of the second. I was trying to get my point across about the game.

Obviously you won't agree because you still play.

The Cataclysm trailer made me laugh. Then i found this which sums it up.

Sorry but when people say they "did ICC" I assume they have done Icecrown, as in completed it. Just like if someone told me they had done a marathon I would have assumed they had run the whole marathon not just stood at the start line and walk off once the starters gun had fired.

So in reality you attempted the 2nd Boss in ICC, so how many bosses didn't you "did" in Naxx, Uld and ToC?

PS My point is that you bagging a game you never completed, I know they always add content but if ICC is on offer now surely you could complete it before you quit? Why would I leave a game without completing it? :)

I grow tired of all the WoW hate, and I grow even more tired of ex players saying its the best thing they ever did was to quit WoW yet they still post in WoW threads. I play computer games for 2-3hrs a night, most nights not all I play WoW, if it wasn't WoW I would still be playing computer games, my life is just fine thanks for your concern.

This is the kind of s*** I am talking about. It's not a f***en popularity contest, it's a f***en game.

I got champion of frozen wastes, cleared all totc 25/10. Did all of ulduar except last boss but who gives a f***, its WOW.

Also if you stopped trolling and bothered to read my posts you would have noticed I have already posted one of my characters.

Man it may as well rank my warrior (in his pew pew gear) as "ghetto". Nice site though :)

That site tells me I'm only geared well enough to do 10 man ToC, but I reckon I could heal 25 man ToC, cos I'm all pro and s***. Though it does bring up some good points where my gear is crap, but I already knew about them :P Like one of my embarassingly low level green trinkets. Not like theres a big selection of good healing trinkets you can get without raiding :(

Oh and it complains that I haven't socketted my belt, which is a good point, I forgot you could even do that.

Cool site though :)

We couldn't find a decent holy pally to recruit on our server. After kicking many failures we just got one of our priests (who had ~6k GS) to reroll pally as his main. He came into icc10 on his pally with naxx gear and we killed LK for the first time. Hard game is hard right?

You can buy a couple with badges, can buy the 219/226/232 gear with badges as well don't forget. Don't run around with greens when there's badge gear easily obtainable.

So you're saying a guild run succeeded? wowzers! How about trying exactly that with all pugs in naxx gear?

Yeah, I got one of the badge trinkets, but the only other one thats there is just a generic spellpower one, my current one while green actually gives me a pretty big chunk of mana regen, so I dunno if I want to give it up for generic +spellpower epix. Guess its probably a good idea so I look respectable in my welfare epix.

Yeah even if you just use it for Dalaran rep and switch it out if it's useless once they start the raid :)

How would you still have naxx gear? 4pc t9 is ~ 230 badges which is about one days grind of heroics. Blizzard spoonfeed casuals so much yet they still complain.

f*** that's an awesome site eXemplar. Just fixed a gem and enchant on my rogue.

Although on my hunter it's saying I'm losing +8 AP bonus for a socketed item which isn't right. Oh well, still awesome though.
