European developer Funcom (Age of Conan, Anarchy Online) have sent along a new trailer for their upcoming contemporary MMO The Secret World. Although not as flashy as the previous cinematic trailer, this one does feature actual in-engine footage and provides some more insight into the lore and style of the game. Funcom's Erling Ellingson clarifies that "The video consists entirely of in-game footage, except for the obvious color modifications and distortion effects,"

The location footage consists of grainy and distorted black and white shots that give a unique and mysterious glimpse into the town of Kingsmouth – one of the many locations from all over the real world to be featured ‘The Secret World’. In the game, as the video shows, horrific events have befallen the sleepy New England town.

Its like an MMO Silent Hill

hey... wait. It's a zombie mmo!?!!?

No. A few "screenshots" show big huge concrete monsters.

Its not just zombies, its all sorts of supernatural stuff, I think the concept is like supernatural stuff (like demons, zombies, earth elementals, whatever else), super-imposed over the real, modern day world. The whole "this sort of stuff is going on right under our noses and we don't know" type of deal.

Edit: Though thats just my impressions from the various bits and pieces of media I've seen regarding the game, I could be entirely, absolutely wrong.

yeh that was my impression... I just watched the trailer and the first bit really made it seem like el zombiez where everywhere. Still intrigued. Except it's an MMO so I'll never play it.
