So Serious Sam HD was announced a couple weeks ago on Croteam's website.

Below is a quote from the Serious Sam forum admin which pretty much sums the initial release of SS:HD:

Majesco Europe has informed Eurogamer that they will be publishing a remake of Serious Sam for the Xbox Live Arcade platform. This title, called Serious Sam HD, is being developed by Croteam and is expected to be released in the fourth quarter of 2009.

Roman Ribaric, Croteam's CEO, has told Seriously!, unofficially, that HD will use their new Serious Engine 3 technology and will also be released for the PC sometime after the XBLA release. He also said that HD represents a 10-year internal anniversary for Serious Sam and with its release Croteam hopes to give newcomers a chance to experience Serious Sam for the first time and for old hats to see that Croteam is serious about being serious (this ain't no Serious Sam 2) with this and all future Serious Sam games!

Essentially after the release of SS:FE in HD, they're planning to follow up with SS:SE in HD and then finally release the true sequel Serious Sam 3 but there is meant to be more details about this in the near future. I've been contemplating playing through SS:FE and SS:SE again recently but I think with this news, I might hold off until the PC version is released.

If you can get a server up for serious sam & 6 other players to jump in, I will assist you in playing through the game :)

I enjoyed playing through the game in co-op mode once, not the sort of game that holds my attention though since it's mostly just turn a corner shoot aliens, turn another corner more aliens blah blah blah. Multiplayer deathmatch was awesome fun though

Painkiller was good but SS was just a fun game to play. Awesome worlds and scenery.
