Just got back from seeing this at IMAX at southbank.
Now this movie i've been waiting god knows how long for, and it was worth the wait. I'm not going to type any spoilers here, because frankly it's just damn rude to even say what happens. Christian Bale - Great performance as expected, took the batman role even further, gave it more depth and darker. Morgan Freeman - Same as he was in batman begins Michael Caine - One of the best actors and his supporting role was good, his warmth and charisma was good. Maggie Gyllenhal - Much better casting than katie holmes. Katie just can't act, maggie had warmth. Aaron Eckhart - A fine role and great acting. Gary Oldman - Expected performance(which is nothing short of great) Now.. Heath Ledger, at first I as was everyone else were skeptical about him playing the joker. But after seeing the images and the trailers and knowing what he did to this role and how he took it so much further than anyone could, he was brilliant. His laugh, his personality, his eyes and his body language was just superb in every scene he was in. The way he speaks is what really got me goin, just sounds sadistic. The story line was good, we all know what happens anyways..But couple of the twists surprised me, wasn't expecting it..There is one part that i think should/could have been in there..but more on that later. Now, you're all probably going..shut up and yada yada yada and you haven't even said much about the movie. I'll say more when others have seen the movie and can talk about the movie in more depth. NOW!! the biggest let down was southbank cinemas itself..The amplifier that powers the sound for the SFX died and the techies couldnt get there till 2pm. We had the choice of getting refund or staying..so i stayed, will be seeing movie again friday night. The amp dieing make a huge difference in sound, so can't wait to see it again. I so want to say more..so hurry up and see the movie.. |

I have never used this term to describe an actors performance but Heath's joker was nothing short of f***ing phenomenal. The way he moved, talked and presented himself when onscreen is just amazing. He nailed the character better than anyone could of IMO. Heath IS the joker now and its a damn shame that the best role he ever did, he will never be able hear the credit he so deserves. You could remake the movie 100 times with 100 different people and wouldn't get a better person for the role. Looking back, he makes jack's joker look like the 60s tv version. There is just no comparing the 2 together anymore.
Every scene with the joker was so superb and nailed that I don't think anyone can disagree he was the right choice for the role. The entire movie was f***ing awesome though and just more proof that not all sequals suck. Also to avoid spoilers I will just say i'm not too crash hot on the ending but it did work. I'll be seeing this again no doubt last edited by DM at 16:44:19 16/Jul/08 |

DM, i agree bout the ending..
Now we see him as the title portrays.. I was always sick of people comparing jack and heaths jokers..they are two completely different styles..one was say a childs joker..where the other was a sadistic, tormented and dark joker.. last edited by Damo at 16:44:21 16/Jul/08 |

What I hate is that people are saying Heath will still be nominated for an Emmy or whatever it is, and I think that if he does win some people will say he only got it because he's dead, but I think his performance was fantastic and I'm sure that he could have won anyway. Was really impressed with the movie, but I do agree that I wasn't overly happy with the ending. Yea, it did work, but it just wasn't how I thought it would end.

went and saw it tonight but the whole experience was ruined by the f***ing gay southbank carpark, we arrived at 5:15 for the 6pm screening to get a good seat, went down to the car park afterwards and after waiting 30 mins in the carpark to even get out we were told our 4 hours to get $2 cinema parking were up and we had to pay 30 f***ing dollars to get out!, even though if we were able to get out when we go in our car it would have been within the 4 hours.
Will post about the actual movie another time when I'm not so f***ing pissed but do you want to see my magic trick anyway? |

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERISH STUFF: jebuz... saw the movie last night with wetwired and a few others... (i think wetwired almost pised his pants with excitment) ...movie was really good: not as dark as the last one but still cool... i also think they tried to cram a little too much into the movie but it was still very good ...joker was amazing! : i was disturbed while watching him... friggin crazy bastard! ...everything about the way heath ledger played was perfect for the character ...i really dont think anyone could have done a better job... the way he performed the "dissapering pencil trick" without batting an eyelid really shock me (in a good way :P )... also have to mention the sound... holy crap! ...even from the very start where everything is silent and that static and high piched whine come in i was already feeling anxious... then having those same sounds with the distrubing performance for the joker mixed together... wow ...there were a few minor things that were pretty dumb... ie: batpod + wall = lame... but for the most part i was impressed... thumbs up from me :D Spoiler: also: the way they talk about wanting a new batsuit so that he can "turn his head" was really friggin funny |

The pencil part was awesome. Heath Ledger was f***en awesome for the whole movie. Not just cause he is dead either.
I reckon it woulda been cooler if batman chose to save harvey, for the greater good because they were always going on about how people arent supposed to like batman. |

I reckon it woulda been cooler if batman chose to save harvey, for the greater good because they were always going on about how people arent supposed to like batman.I got the impression he saw through the Joker's trick and rescued Harvey intentionally. Though by that part of the film my brain was overloaded, so in the ensueing dialogue for the rest of the movie dealing with this subject (of which there was a lot) I probably wishfully overlooked whatever facts contradicted this. Also, whomever came up with that Joker overtone sound score is a friggin' genius. last edited by ccl at 12:06:23 17/Jul/08 |

it makes no sense that batman would sacrifice his one true love to save harvey dent. if harvey dent was the only man who could take over as gotham city's crime fighter so batman could retire wouldn't he want to be able to spend his time the whole rachel instead of pieces of her? although the joker is insane, the batman is not. |

Spoiler:
There's so much going on in this movie, many of the subplots would have taken up a larger portion of screen time in any other superhero, take for example the subplot about the guy who works at Wayne Enterprises and figures out that Bruce Wayne is Batman. From the moment his whiny arse is introduced at the start all the way up to the point where Bruce Wayne wrecks his Lamborghini to save the guy's life, it's all done seamlessly without pandering to the dullards, but yet still done in a small amount of screen time. The whole plot point would have taken up a majority of any other superhero movie. It helps sell the realism of it all when something like that comes along, how would you hide things like the batmobile from a company of probably thousands of employees? you couldn't. I think the more realistic it gets, the more things like the Batpod driving up the wall and turning around seem lame to some people, in any other movie it'd probably be fine, but since they've grounded their world in believability it seems out of place. Now while talking about unrealistic the whole sonar thing at the end was stretching it a bit, even if the tech was plausible it's usage at the end with the joker in the construction site was more distracting than cool, the flashes of white and blurs of normally short action was a bit much to take in, and by the end of it I had no idea wtf was going on. But I'll be seeing it again anyway :) |

The one thing that i saw on tv and completely agree with is that they didnt show the background of the joker, apart for the story he told about getting his scars and that.. It keeps his life a mystery and makes you believe he really is just that damn scary, unlike other movies they show the villians background and takes away all the suspense.. |

Spoiler:
That is just it though, Joker tells conflicting stories about how he got his scars, so you never really find out the truth how he got them. that to me makes him even more freaky because it makes him seen quite insane. But I do agree that by not showing the Joker's start as a villian, it worked so well in his favor that you are left wondering how he became so twisted in the first place. Anyone can rob banks in movie worlds, but it takes a real twisted person to then burn the money from the banks, simply because you enjoy brining chaos to things |

Good movie although it's way too long. There were parts I was starting to get bored, especially near the end with the boats. That whole part didn't feel right to me, especially when Batman had that sonar s*** over his eyes, lol.
But apart from that the movie was good. Heath was great, but would have been nice to see him on screen more. So overall great movie but it really needs to be cut down a bit. |

i never got bored. i was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole thing. the acting was incredible especially heath's joker. you could tell he put a lot of thought into what the joker would have done in each scene. i dont think there will be any movie this year that i will enjoy more than this movie.

Saw this today.
Movie absolutely rocked! Heath Ledger as the Joker was nothing short of brilliant, he made the entire film... every single scene of his was awesome and he completely stole the spotlight. Opening scene was badass :) |

There were a few things that were a bit lame.
1. Nearly all the extra's in the movie were so unconvincing, it kind of killed a few moments, every now and then I would spot someone that wasn't even attempting to fit in with the scene. 2. The hand to hand fight scenes were s***HOUSE! s***ty action with jerky camera, the only saving grace was that they were typically short. 3. The bike on the wall was f***ing gay, whoever suggested that idea needs to be fired immediately. |

Well as far as movies go it was awesome but...
- I love Bale, but whenever I watch him I expect something new which didn’t happen. I honestly felt bored by his performance. - Yes Heath was awesome, so was Eckhart, but the story to build up 2face although great made the movie too long winded… this could have been because I was watching a 10:30 session though. - My biggest problem with the movie was how critics were saying how DARK this movie was… I fell for the hype and it really wasn’t that dark. - Heath’s performance as the joker was beyond brilliant, but I could have done with a bit less salivary mouth affects. I give it 4 & 1/2 out 5....and the start of the movie was the best movie sequence ever. |

i thought it was dumb how two-face had a mangled face but his eyeball was fine, and the fact that if you had half your mouth gone like that you couldn't actually speak properly yet he managed all his p and m sounds perfectly. try it while holding your half your lips open, its impossible

- I reckon it would have been annoying and detracted from the character if he spoke like a retard |

Did anyone else find the growly voice that Christian Bale did as Batman a little over the top in this one? I dunno, I gotta see it a gain, cos it might have just been because we were right near a subwoofer where we were sitting in the Imax, but it seemed almost post-processed, it was so low and growly. And it also felt a bit out of place when he was using it to have normal conversations with people. Fair enough if you're trying to instill fear in someone and intimidate them, but when he was just having normal conversations with Gordon and stuff it seemed a bit out of place.

If it is a little over the top I like to think it's because he (Wayne, not Bale) is becoming more Batman and less Bruce Wayne. I'm looking forward to the next one when he goes of the rails completely.
Also Harvey's make up was excellent and totally surpassed what I assumed I wasn't going to get to see until the next movie. My only question concerns when he found time to get that killer suit made up? |

First up let me say ... what evryone is saying that Heath (RIP) totally owned in this, is true. Every minute that he is on screen is just .. epic.
It can only be a good thing that he will be remembered for his role of the Joker rather than a Pillow-Biting Cowboy in BackDoor Mountain or whatever the heck it was called. A few points ... Spoiler: -I agree with Rev that it was perhaps a little too long. It wasnt however in the least bit boring as there is so much stuff going on at breakneck speed I wish I had a rewind button. No my opinion is that its just got too much stuff packed into one movie, bit of an overload by the end. Particularly that last 20mins or so with all the multiple subplots that needed sorting out. The 'Bomb-Ferry' sequence was a bit lame/conviluted. -The mobile phone sonar thing was a bit over the top so the Batpod Wall-Flip didnt really bother me that much .. I guess we are all being picky about this stuff as it is a 'Comic-Book' genre movie so disregard this point at your convenience. Overall a great movie ... not perfect but full of moments of perfection. That scene with the Joker in the Interrogation Room is a case in point. I give it 8 out of 10 fanboi orgasms. last edited by sLaps_Forehead at 21:55:53 19/Jul/08 last edited by sLaps_Forehead at 23:54:12 19/Jul/08 |

There was no indication that he changed his mind. I would say it would be far more likely that the joker tricked him because he'd tried to do so on several occasions, ie the hostages wearing the clown masks and the clowns pretending to be the hostages etc. There would have been no point in batman changing his mind because he'd sent the cops to the other location.

I don't believe this bit one iota, but I've read people speculating that two-face is still alive. He seemed pretty dead to me, and I figured that was the whole point, batman took a life and went against his code?

I'd like to hope Two Face is still alive cos I want to see him in the next movie :P But thats just the fanboy in me speaking, cos I can't see how he could be still alive.
As for the whole choosing who to save thing, I think Batman must have known they were switched, and had decided all along to go save Dent, cos when he turned up at the place where Dent was its not like he hesitated and got confused and was all like "Wtf you're meant to be Rachel!" he just races in and grabs Dent like he knew he'd be there. |

What Khel said is how I saw it too, and it makes the most sense from a "let's fool the audience into thinking he's going to save Rachel but he's really going to pick the most unselfish path and save Dent" point of view/trick.

Yeah, I'd prefer to see Two-Face continue over, otherwise they're going to be forced to start introducing more and more crappy villains - and we really don't need to see Catwoman (seriously, how can you go from "blow-everything-up Joker to Jewelery thief Selina), Penguin (who was effectively just a smarter Carmine Falcone) , Riddler (who can't just kill people, he has to setup a bloody mouse-trap board) or (urgh) Mr Freeze in this darker style of movie.
It seems to me logical choices might be characters like Zeiss and Prometheus, but it just feels like any third installment would need to have more chaos and anarchy than Begins and TDK. |

I wouldn't be surprised if the next film featured Catwoman, considering Lucius Fox's/Morgan Freeman's comment about the suit protecting against cats. Batman Begins had little references in it to people being two-faced and stuff like that, so it very well could have been a reference to Catwoman.

its not like he hesitated and got confused and was all like "Wtf you're meant to be Rachel!" he just races in and grabs Dent like he knew he'd be there After seeing it a second time, when that moment comes he does look a bit shocked that dent is there lying on the floor. Not a whole lot but it's almost as if he didn't expect it. That and when he flys out of the room after the joker tells him, he yells to gordan that he is going after rachel, so gordan goes after dent. if he changed his mind half way through then they would of both reached the same place together. Also I hope that dent isn't dead because two-face would be the best villian to have next movie, due to him being already set up. I'm sure they could find a way to make him not dead. |

I'd love to see nolan's take on the catwoman if they do another movie. After watching the brave one last night I could really picture her as a victim of a savage rape or beating, taking matters into her own hands and executing her own style of vigilante justice throughout gotham.
Killing criminals outright and actually cleaning up the city, gaining support from the citizens of Gotham while Batman is on the run and seen as the outcast. The underlying conflict inside bruce would be his temptation and seduction by the catwoman into that type of justice. Assuming he killed Two-Face, he would have gotten a taste of how easy it is to just eliminate a problem by killing them and the always present love story between batman and catwoman would be more of a seduction into her ethics than a sexual or traditional love story. I think batman as a character wasn't as developed in TDK and there's no way they could top the epicness of it in another movie, If they scaled it back, a more personal story of conflict within batman himself it would be the way to go. |

Catwoman makes sense. Now that Rachel is out of the picture they'll need to fill the feminine void.
I think Killer Croc would be cool, but I'm not sure they could pull him off realistically. Maybe this guy? |

Looks like Batman has now claimed the biggest opening in history by knocking that piece of s*** Spiderman 3 from the top spot. How that ever made the most I'll never know but this is awesome news.
Batman $US155.3 million (estimated) Spiderman $US151.1 million 8-) |

I loved the movie. Everything Nolan does is GOLD!
It was a long movie but it didn't feel long (unlike Spiderman 3). There was just so much story that it kept you entertained. I thought Heath's Joker was perfect in what i see the Joker should be. I also really enjoyed Aaron Eckhart's performance. I can't remember but i think there was one part when he screamed "Say it!" and the whole cinema jumped. Gary Oldman was fantastic in his role too. As was Michael Caine. Will be certainly interesting to see what they do with the next one. |

Catwoman makes sense as an upcoming baddie because at the start when they're talking about the modified suit Fox mentions something about it's more resistant to dogs but less to cats.

To all who think the next villian is Catwoman or Penguin:

the caped crusader sounds a bit gay to me, but I like the way they used "The Dark Knight" as the film name, much like the next superman is rumoured to be called "The Man of Steel", but what else could they call batman? isn't one the "something" detective? can't remember, f*** it, they should just call it "The Goddamn Batman"

Bahaha, from that article:
They’ve got a whole raft of other villains to chose from, so why pick the two most obvious? Especially when nobody’s put Lola Lasagne in a Batman movie yet. |

They need The Riddler! Although they'd probably pick Jim Carrey or someone lame to play him.

I reckon Jim Carrey wouldn't be a bad choice for the Riddler again, he just needs the right director. He's shown that he can pull off darker, more serious rolls before so I can't see why that'd be any different in this instance. The biggest problem is by playing the Riddler before in that steaming pile of crap, he's kinda shot himself in the foot. I'd actually like the see the Riddler turn up in the next movie but wouldn't care if he didn't.

Yeah he could pull it off under nolan I reckon, but nolan would need a huge set of balls and pull with WB to cast him twice.
Also I like the riddler, but I feel he's too similar to the joker in many ways, unless of course he arises as a sort of copycat of the joker, only worse. |

But can you imagine the praise he would get if he could pull off the same character in two different movies completely differently? In both the very dark style, and very comedy style?
But no, please don't do it. |

Just had an interesting idea. What if that guy who tried to blackmail Lucious and Bruce turned into the Riddler? Mabye they fire or demote him and he gets really angry at that, so he kinda turns against them and starts off this whole inside corruption sorta thing to try and expose everything to the public. Interesting I think.

imo i think they have wrapped up the series pretty well, if they wanted to keep going they would have kept two-face alive. batman is now the outcast.
i think thats the way they wanted to finish. |

I thought the triggers were going to blow up something else entirely, like they'd use their trigger thinking they were saving themselves, and it'd blow up a road or a building or something in the city and kill people who had nothing to do with it.

I was really dissapointed with the boat scene, I REALLY wanted some death and destruction... the movie had a dark feeling going and the joker was getting away with lots of killing.
Then nothing happened :( |

I thought that accountant guy who knew who batman was was caught by the joker? Wasn't he on video doing a cnn type report while captive?
Also, when batman comes out of interview room, gordon goes "who are you going to save?" and batman says "rachel!". Also I got distracted during the movie and had no idea why there were all those prisoners and people on the boats?? |

I really didn't like the boat scene at the end. Something should have blown up instead of doing the whole cliched thing with the civilians wanting the prisoners dead and then the prisoner dude throwing the trigger thingy out the window. Everything up to that point I liked but that scene really f***ed the ending for me.

I thought that accountant guy who knew who batman was was caught by the joker? Wasn't he on video doing a cnn type report while captive? Nah, I think that was one of the batman copycats you saw at the beginning of the movie. Also, when batman comes out of interview room, gordon goes "who are you going to save?" and batman says "rachel!". Yeah, I was wondering about that. My interpretation is that the Joker wanted Dent alive, knew Batman would go after Rachael and switched the addresses. So gave Batman Dent's address and told him that's where Rachael was. Also I got distracted during the movie and had no idea why there were all those prisoners and people on the boats?? Yeah, didn't the Joker go on TV say something along the lines of it people didn't want to be part of the games to get out of the city? I was under the impression it was an evacuation of sorts. Maybe I was just dreaming that, I did go to the midnight session after all :) |

If anyone could make the Riddler awesome beyond belief it would be Nolan. Also i'd be willing to be Heath will get some form of award for this. Also going to see this a 3rd time next week with friends. I've never seen a movie twice, much less 3 times in the cinemas. Not forgetting this movie has already made what? 198 million, broken 9 box office records including highest 1 day take in which was around 68 million. incredible

If you have the opportunity, go see it on IMAX as several of the scenes in the movie where filmed with an IMAX camera and look pretty kick ass.

I wasn't aware Melbourne had an IMAX Cinema. I thought Sydney was the only city in Australia like it was a long time before Brisbane got one (until it was shut down). Melbourne having one would make sense though.
Also Batman, was good, very dark though. |

Yeah, it's been around for quite a few years now in Melbourne but was always was only showing documentaries etc. After floods of requests for a long long time, they finally decided to start showing movies there too. They were actually showing Batman Begins there as well up until last Wednesday as a lead up to the Dark Knight but I didn't get around to going to that. Link

I thought Batman wanted to save Dent instead of Rachael for the "greater good" of Gotham City.. Batman didn't know Dent was going to get his face burnt and turn into a psychopath.. Batman was extremely committed to Dent as a DA cause I remember Batman saying that Dent put away like 500+ criminals away in one hit or somes*** and risked everything on the line to blow his cover and go to prison so joker would stop killing and Dent to continue his work.
So maybe it was just a "twist" that they implemented into the movie. A few things that killed my 9/10 rating, Batmans voice, the motorbike back flipping bulls*** and the coin tossing thing gold old real fast.. So I 'll give it a 8/10.. But boy what a show Heath put on, the most authentic villian I have ever seen on screen.. last edited by Martz at 10:37:51 24/Jul/08 |

Saw this again this afternoon for the 2nd time, watching it again it really seems like they've set up Mr Reese as a possible Riddler in the future.
Also one bit I found puzzling, when the judge and the commissioner are being killed, at the same time Bruce Wayne grabs Harvey Dent and hides him away from the Joker who's about to turn up during his fundraiser party. How the hell does he know that they're coming? this was before they actually show up as it's during the party while Rachel is talking to Harvey. |

Wasn't it because the card had Harvey's DNA on it, indicating he was one of the next victims? The way I remember it, after he found that out, he hid him because he knew the Joker was coming to get him.

That was Jim Gordon who discovered the DNA on the card, who was miles away from that party and would have no reason to communicate that info to Bruce Wayne

A few things that killed my 9/10 rating, Batmans voice, the motorbike back flipping bulls*** and the coin tossing thing gold old real fast.. So I 'll give it a 8/10..It's the same voice from the first movie so it shouldn't be a surprise, the motorbike back flip was totally suck and reminded me of the earlier sucky batmans but the coin tossing thing is, well, Two Faces "thing". My favourite thing about Batman is his super hero catch phrase, "I'm Batman". It's not preachy like other super hero catch phrases. |

Exactly, reload - when Wayne puts on the Batsuit he *becomes* the alter-ego, which includes the voice. So he's not about to change his voice merely because Alfred knows his identity. It's Batman talking to Fox, not Wayne.

I thought Heath Ledger was a pretty average actor and largely overrated untill I saw this movie tonight. He blew me away. I found my self relishing every moment he spent on screen, and when he wasn't on screen I couldn't wait to see him on there again. 10/10 on his part.
I like how tussles with insignificant grunts was reduced to blurry swipes and single hits. We already established that he's an uber ninja in the first movie, we don't need a full blown Jackie Chan movie every time Batman takes down a cutpurse. I found Bale's voice while he was in the batsuit to be a little over the top, but I guess you can just pass it off as him trying to protect his secret identity. Now I'm just really pissed that Ledger is dead. Everything was totally set up for a third batman with Joker as a baddie, along with Harley Quinn as his sidekick and Twoface as an ally. Disappearing pencil trick was the best part of the movie. |

A guy at pointed out something which made sense to me, maybe its like some kind of voice synthesiser or voice masking thing actually built into his cowl, cos otherwise, yeah, its a bit odd that he uses the growly voice all the time.

Nah, I agree with Zaphod - when he dons the cowl, he IS Batman, and that doesn't change until it comes off.
I am still digesting this movie and want to see it again before I draw a verdict. It was great, but I'd built it up so much mentally (despite avoiding trailers etc) that I think some disappointment was inevitable. One thing that bugged me was that there was so much of Batman being visible by heaps of people in full bright light. This strikes me as being at odds with some of the comic stuff, where the whole point of him is to stay in the shadows and be seen by as few people as possible - like, why he only really ever talks to Gordon. There were two scenes in particular - when he's interviewing the Joker in the room in full view of all the cops with all the lights on (like, surely it'd be more like him to have the lights off and try and use the darkness to freak out Joker, probably with no effect, but still..) and the second was at the party where he pops up in front of all the society types - I reckon the comic Bats would have taken out the lights first. Overall though, considering the liquid s*** that is oozing out of Hollywood these days, it was awesome. Also, disappearing pen trick ftw |

i'm the same as trog, still digesting but not agreeing with the disappointment bit, it was f***ing awesome and i need to see it again.
i think the deal with him appearing in bright light trog was to highlight the urgency of the matter at hand ie. rachel and more so harvey dent. i also found myself loving every second that the joker was on the screen, you couldn't even tell it was heath ledger for one second. unlike tom cruise who you can always see past any character he plays. i also found myself almost in tears when commisioner gordon dies, for the shear fact if there is (pray to f***ing god) a next one he is obviously one of the key roles. i was totally blown away that two face dies i thought he would play a bigger part as a villian maybe in the next movie, i thought they left the 'mr reece' bit open for the next one which as someone said before mr reece aka mysteries. although bruce saves him and gives him the nod so who knows totally awesome |

Two things that might be hints about the next one:
Bank owner gets cannister put into his mouth 'whatever doesnt kill you, makes you stranger' (who is that bank owner - i lack background knowledge) And that the suit protects against cats (been mentioned in this thread). |

Would be good if the mob bank manager is now a nutcase from the gas. He seemed to have a lot of balls shooting at the robbers, would make a decent villain.

A guy at pointed out something which made sense to me, maybe its like some kind of voice synthesiser or voice masking thing actually built into his cowl, cos otherwise, yeah, its a bit odd that he uses the growly voice all the time. Yeah, thats what I thought it was as well, a synthesizer so some sort built into the suit pressed up against his vocal chords. |

Interesting, especially considering the bank manager wasn't just a no-name actor. You see that guy in heaps of stuff and some pretty good roles too. |

I liked the Batman voice...totally badass.
Movie was freaking epic...as much as I would have liked to have seen more Joker I think it made me cherish the moments he was on screen even more. Saw the movie last night, then walking the 82kms to my car at Balmoral I was walking really close to a bush when a massive bat flew out about 1 metre in front of me. I almost creamed my pants with excitement. Going to see again tonight. Fkn awesome. I agree the bike/wall thing was a little silly though. |

No doubt he was one of those actors who puts his name forward after hearing about a movie they like the sound of and say "Can you give me a part in this", and all they could/wanted to give him was a small role.
When I see him I already remember him as the crooked cop in Go :D |

I saw this on another forum, if they do have the joker in the next one, this guy looks a lot like ledger, dunno if he'd have the acting chops to pull it off though, it's that kid from 3rd rock from the sun...

I feel sorry for whatever actor gets the part of the Joker in any upcoming movies (if they give it to anyone). Regardless of how well they do it, even if their performance matches or exceeds that of Ledger, they'll catch s*** for it.

there won't be another joker
he said plenty of times in the movie, his only objective was to cause chaos so if he was in the movie again it would simply be rehashing s*** they will certainly move on, or maybe stop it there. i hope not :\ |

Pretty sure there will be more movies, but there is no reason why they would need to include the Joker (apart from mentioning that he is locked up or something).
I VERY much doubt they would ever get another actor to play the Joker in any future movies in this re-image. They would cop too much flack. Plenty of other villians to use. p.s. Paveway, surprised you have not changed your sig to a quote from Dark Knight. |

Check out Batman: Gotham Knight. It was released this month as a direct to DVD gig much in the same vein as the animatrix. Four japaneese studios each creating a separate yet continuous story arc set between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. I caught it in a Dendy two weeks ago and enjoyed it.

July 29, 2008 Warner . devoted six months to an extensive anti-piracy strategy for the release of "The Dark Knight", and have deemed the 38 hour period between the film's premiere screening and the first appearance on file-sharing sites to be a success - keeping bootleg DVDs off the streets as the film racked up a record-breaking US$158.4 million on its all important opening weekend. |

Actually, Australia got it 2 days before the US did. Dunno why but we did. That's becoming pretty common now. We got Transformers and (I think) the last two Pirates movies before the US too, along with others that I can't remember. It's really just because we're ~17 hours or so ahead of the USA. |

They had Wednesday daytime sessions. I personally saw it at 17:20.
I heard through the grapevine that they pulled the date forward by a day to make better use of the school holidays. |

I'd rather see catwoman and riddler than penguin..
I just dont like penguin in this kinda batman, I just dont see it as a realistic character..I'm sure if they did it and philip seymour hoffman were to do it, it would be good..but yeah..Little contradictory there but..hmm... Who would play catwoman? |

I just hope they don't use an overly 'big-star' actor. Movies like this are so much better when they don't have some knob just on there because they're famous.

I saw this again on the weekend, and I was paying very close attention to the whole 'did the Joker swap the addresses' thing, and it's incredibly clear now that yes, the Joker swapped the addresses.
I was listening to the addresses that the Joker gives, and the one that he says Dent is in (255 something street) is the address that Gordon tells everyone to follow him to, which leaves Batman going to the other one. It makes sense, considering the Joker's plan to break Dent down into becoming a villain. He obviously wouldn't want him to die, and he knew Batman would go after Rachael, because he makes the comment about him throwing himself out the window to save her at the party. |

On June 24, 2008, in a interview with Ed Boon, he confirmed that all of the MK characters and DC villains will have fatalities, while DC heroes will have brutalities, which will function similarly to fatalities, except without killing the opponent. |
