Just a reminder that Gen Con Oz is up and running in Brisbane this weekend - the first visit to Australia for the big-name sic-fi and gaming event.

Four whole days of computer games, board games, card games, miniature war games, role play games …and more! If you like games you’re gonna love Gen Con Australia!

Touted as “The best four days in gaming”, it is the biggest ever interactive game-playing convention in the country! More than 500 games and tournaments!

And…Meet tons of games and sci fi celebrities, from Stargate and Firefly, to Dragonlance!

Tickets $22, and Children under 12 are free with a paying adult! Four day passes are also available for $66.

There’s something for everyone at Gen Con™ Australia this Thursday to Sunday at the Brisbane Convention Centre. Doors open at 9am each day.

Yer we're running a LAN there, it's a bit crazy. Got a full house for CS:S comp tomorrow with $3000 cash prizes plus some 24" screens, video cards, etc.

TF2 comp tonight with $500 cash for the winners.

Yeh its a little weird how this event was publicised. On one hand they managed to get people on Triple J to refer to this as the "world's biggest gaming convention" (haha) but there was pretty much nothing that we got through our usual PR contacts about this. We only stumbled across it completely randomly a couple weeks ago.

I didn't even realise that had anything to do with video games, I thought it was a D&D type gaming convention. Only because theres a guy at work who is a massive D&D fan and wanted to go up to Brisbane for this convention. Apart from him though, I didn't even hear anything about it.
