Electronic Arts have announced a PC version of Burnout Paradise is underway and is being built from the ground up by Criterion Software for the platform. According to the press release, this is the first time the series has landed on the PC and will feature exclusive new content. Burnout Paradise will be the first Burnout title ever made for the PC, customized with expanded multiplayer, enhanced online features, and community driven content.Good news for PC owners still not sold on the budding home console platform. We reviewed the game last year, but for all the quick information you need hit up our Burnout Paradise game page. |

I hope by "Ground Up" they don't change too much game content from the console version, if they did they might as well give it a diferent title.

Hmmm, this game would be best played on a gamepad anyway, so you'd probably be better off just getting it on a console.

I think 'from the ground up' were only steve's words which is a little confusing. The EA press release just says 'being rebuilt specifically for the PC.'.
Hopefully that means a more mouse-orientated user interface and the ability to run your own servers to compete with local players instead of having to connect to some US based server for peer to peer play. |

^^ Actually, Sony have officially named the PS3 a computer system, because it lets them do something they couldn't otherwise do. I can't remember what that thing is, but I'm sure that them allowing you to install Linux is related.
A bit of useless, and very limited information for you. |

Yeah yeah, obviously those are official names, the point was we don't need to hear the official name in every press release! It's not like there's the possibility you may mistakenly think that Burnout Paradise was not released on the "PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system" but some other completely unrelated PLAYSTATION®3 thing...
...and don't even get me started on the caps! |

Yeah, all the companies are EXTREMELY anal about correct terminology and naming when it comes to their systems, this I have learnt the painful way. Wii Remotes are expressly forbidden from being called Wii-motes (except, for some bizarre reason, in France). When you're talking about the power button the Wii it is called the POWER Button in Europe, but the Power Button in the United States. It is Wii System Memory in Europe, but Wii system memory in the US (note the slightly different capitalisation, yes they are THAT anal). On the PS2, you can't just say "memory card", every time you want to talk about memory cards you have to say "Memory Card (8MB) for Playstation 2(r)".
The list just keeps going, they're extremely anal when it comes to this stuff, so yeah it doesn't suprise me in the least they keep using their full blown marketing bulls*** names for the consoles in press releases, the people writing the press releases are probably being forced at gunpoint to use those names. |
