I wouldn't be surprised if there was an exact superman "alternate reality" comic with that exact plot line.

I'm kinda optimistic about it... it could be another one of those movies where ALL the funny/cool parts are shown in the trailer, so when you watch the movie it feels like you're just watching filler between jokes you've already seen (e.g. Galaxy Quest).
The one thing about the movie that really grabs my attention is that it seems to portray what the world would be like if I were a super hero (I'm sure I'm not the only one). If I had superman's powers as of tomorrow, I'd still be as complacent, lazy, binge-drinking and dirty as I normally am. Oh yeah, with most things I'd still scape by doing the bare minimum, I'd still get sloshed on the weekends and I'd definitely use my powers to pick up. I guess what I'm getting at is this; if I were Superman, nobody would be getting saved before midday on a Saturday. Edit: it's 2:20am and I've had a few beers : / last edited by Crizane Tribal at 02:16:54 16/Jun/08 |

I don't recall Superman getting drunk, throwing whales or letting himself get locked up in S2..
Would've been a darn sight cooler if it did! |

Just saw it tonight, thoroughly enjoyed it. I definitely recommend you all catch this flick. His origins are explained in the film. Not in huge detail, but enough to satisfy your curiosity. I'm still mildly curious though. =P

Yeah, I went to Wikipedia hoping that it would somehow have more info on his character, not much there though.

I went to watch it last night.
Pretty good, not as good as i expected it to be from the trailer. Really liked the concept of making him just an ordinary bloke but then they f***ed it up half way through i thought. Any ways still good to watch. |

cant wait for this and dont miss with the zohan
Mm I was told not to even bother hiring out Don't Mess With the Zohan when it becomes a weekly and it's cheap Tuesday. Seeing Hancock tmrw night, but not entirely sure if I'm looking forward to it anymore from the mixed reviews I keep hearing |

it was average, but i mean a true average, not that it was bad. it was 90 minutes of okay.
and as someone else said the only bit that really made me laugh was the very last bit |

The first half was riotously funny, then the second half turned into a bunch of sop. It was also painfully predictable. I'd give it about a 6/10. Not great, but better than most of the s*** coming out these days.

I agree. The first half was great, then there's an exact point in the movie where it turns s*** in the space of 3 seconds. You'll know the spot once you see the movie. If it wasn't for *that* part of the storyline, then it would've been a great movie. Will Smith and Jason Bateman were pretty good.

Zohan was heaps overrated! I laughed like once... :/
Hancock I expected to be a funny movie with no real storyline however it had a descent storyline and is pretty good. |

Just watched Hancock, wasn't great, but wasn't terrible either, I'd give it maybe 5.5-6/10.
