So my trusty old v3 mouse is on it's last legs. Spose thise was always just a matter of time. Anyway, what mouse do you reccomend? I dont have anything for/against wireless or logitech vs microsoft. The Logitch g7 and g9 seem to get a lot of love from some gamers...

Mouse is for gaming (duh) COD4 etc. Price not really an issue, less than $120 would be good tho.

So, what should I get? Cheers.

Save yourself some cash and get a G5. Wireless isn't worth it imo.

Razer make a decent bunch of mice. Good shapes, good specs etc.

G7 vote from me :D

I've had mine now for about 2 years and its still going strong although battery life isn't quite as good as it was new obviously.

I f***ing hated cords but was reluctant to go wireless at the time because it was still fairly new tech. I wouldn't have it any other way after owning this mouse.

50c black cloth topped mousepad here. I find they give excellent tracking and I like the feel of them.

I thought I'd miss having a forward button but after going to the G7 I have realised I barely use the forward function anyway...

g5 with a razer aluminium based pad. was using the desk before this, which was excellent. just went and found something that felt like my desk at home for when i was moving my pc round.

razer site

edit: chose the g5 because i love the shape of it and being able to weight it up to something that doesn't feel like its gonna break in my hand is good. pretty much why i chose it over the razer mouses.

What are the charging docks like for the G7? I have an MX laser that came with the bluetooth bundle and the mouse is great but the charging dock is terrible. You have to be spot on with sitting it in the charger or it won't charge properly and there is no design for it to lock into position so you have to shift it around until it starts charging.

I don't like the idea of not having a forwards button (or grenade switch / Inventory / Flares).
The only thing stopping me from choosing the G9 is the fear that the seams where the grips join may chafe my hands, or even just annoy me.

The G7 has 2 removable li-ion battery packs. The charger is like a usb extension you also plug the USB receiver into.

When the battery gets low/runs out you pop out the spent one, pop out the charged one from the charger and swap them over. Takes about 10 seconds and s***s all over charging docks.

my friend has one of those odd shaped mice that looks like that ^^ I think it's obnoxious.

When I held it, there was a thumb wheel/button on it right where your thumb would usually just rest while holding the mouse and I can see that getting VERY annoying while playing games and accidentally pushing on that stupid button. Might just be the way I hold my mouse but there's my input on those f*****ry enhanced mice

I have a G9 & I highly recommend it, oh & you can get it $30 cheaper than anywhere else at Umart.

Although the shape of it looks weird, it works. The only adjusting you have to do is get use to the 2 thumb buttons in a higher position (took me 1 day for that), & due to the 3200dpi, you might have to lower the sensitivity command in your games.

But if your like me & bind your sens + & - to keyboard shortcuts, they are now placed conveniently under mouse1 so you can actually press them in the heat of FPS gameplay, the tilt wheel is solid, Mouse buttons are huge so they just seem easier to press. You can make it heavy as a brick or light as a feather with adjustable weights.

I went from Logitech Mouseman +, To Microsoft Intellimouse V3, to Logitech MX518, to Logitech G9

Just get another intellimouse 3.0

Always realiable and a solid design that's comfortable, don't see the need for anything wireless

I was gonna get one of the MX Revs but all the people I asked about em said NO NO UR GAMING WILL GO CRAP ARGHGHH so im like "oook?" and bought a G7.

Very nice mouse. Easy as piss to sqap the batteries. Took a little getting use to from my old MS mouse but the only I would like is a lighter middle mouse button.

I feel I have to push the button instead of just clicking it otherwise it jusyt scrolls and doesnt click...

This is the G7 I got:

G7, it's pretty good, much prefer the re relase over the original (rubba's pic vs 3dee's).

I wouldn't go corded mouse ever again. Cords s*** me, and cordless is just as responsive these days.

I vote for the MX Revolution. Had mine for around 9mnths now and I love it. Good weight, very respnsive. Takes a little getting used to but good mouse. Battery lasts ages, then u just put it in the charge station when finished.

I had a G7. Battery life turned to s*** after 1 year. Had to replace the batteries every day sometimes more then once. I work from home and use my pc all day and into the evening, so it could just be because of my heavy use, but still, less then 6hours on a charged battery is pretty s***.

Now I have a G5. Has all the goodness of a G7 without the battery issues and it has an extra thumb button. Can't argue with that.

Depends on how much gaming I do, if you use the PC for many hours everyday expect to change it at least once.
