Yeah that's pretty price actually. I've had a look for it at our local Aldi (Toombul) but I couldn't see it ... maybe they've sold out of them already?. Edit: Aldi's LCD TV special last edited by Opec at 10:50:41 13/Nov/06 |

thats a s*** res for a PC monitor, my 19" wide probably has half the viewable area and a slightly higher res. Sure it would be fine from 3 meters but as a usable PC monitor? put down the crack pipe.

What's the difference between HD ready and HD???means it doesn't come with a digi tuner in it, so would need to buy a hd settop box. |

I'm awefully tempted to buy one ... just sitting back waiting for some reviews of it first. it's previous model gets a bit of a hammering on the forums.

Aldi is only good for those sort of things. But Aldi is ruining Australia's economy. Importing and selling foreign food at dirt cheap prices, australian made and owned products are been deminished.

Really?
I just looked one up on ebay, samsung or panasonic or something and it was 3000:1. Going for like $500 more than this one tho, granted. Would be good if we could see one running |

You could use it as a screen for a media centre... plus a TV. Resolutions don't matter much when they're that big. You just get yourself a MS Media Centre keyboard, and you're away.
Oh yeah, the other thing is, you knobs who are comparing its specs with a computer monitor, f*** off. |

anyone link me to a review? Everything i've found so far is on the one they were selling last year and that didn't have PC input which seemed to be the main negative in the reviews.

don't bother. Check out Computer Alliance for some good TVs at good prices. Most of them don't have inbuilt tuners, but in the age of <$99 SD tuners that's not really an issue.
Viewsonic 32" LCD - $899 We've got one of these at work with a 360 and a ps3 hooked up to it via Component. there was some colour bleed on the HDMI on the ps3 but we weren't convinced whether that was the TV or the Console ( very early ed. ps3 ) or spend a bit more LG 42" LCD $1999 I got myself one of these for Xmas at home and it's brilliant! |

dont bother going to computer alliance to get one of those viewsonics. I went in there 2 days ago to get one and had a look they seemed to be closer to a 27" viewing area, AND i waited 35min for a sales guy to even bother talking to me. After waiting for that long (I HAD A 9 MONTH OLD with me that was making enough noise to be noticed) i left, and went and bought a Aiko 32" from bigW for $850.
computer alliance may have HAD good service in the past but it seems to have gone to the pile. I know there are a number of their employees on here and they were probably the ones f***ing around and chatting to each other insted of serving paying customers. useless joint now, more expensive for most things and still in the same (ONE STORE ONLY) place with no where near enough service. |

just went and got one. (free 90 day trial - at the end of which real lcd prices would have dropped, so may upgrade for free)
i must say im plesantly suprised with the picture. its very watchable on free to air analogue input. and the sound and viewing angle are excellent. (folks have a far more expensive 42" samsung LCD) this lcd hardly losers any contrast or colour from as far as nearly side on. very happy. the front lower part is already coming off, due to poor glueing so this is an excuse to take it back anyway. |
