Well, It's been a while since we've had one of these, and seeing as I've just bought myself a new 32 inch LCD I felt the need to show off, and also pinch any ideas people have with their own set ups (And my address will NOT be given out!)

The new monitor (32" LG L3200TFK WideScreen LCD Monitor TV Tuner) set me back $2200 from Computer Alliance yesterday. I swear you've never seen WOW being played until you've seen it on a big screen. Earlier today Rev Evil and myself found the same system down at Clive Peters for $2800 (I would have cried if it was cheaper).

Hi Tanaka,

I notice you had two keyboards and mice. Assuming you only want 1 person sitting and controlling both, I recommend a piece of software called Synergy that lets you use two PCs with the one keyboard and mouse, over the network. It feels like you've got dual-monitor mode on (move the mouse off one screen to the other machine).

Anyway, nice setup.

LOL, yea shad but I'm very picky about the mouse pads I use, and have not been able to find any decent new ones. I actually have another 2 keyboards stashed above the video/DVD combo unit (you can just see them protruding in the 3rd pic above the knife). I have 4 pc's and 3 lap tops set up here (2 other lap tops away on loan to my father). I use 2 of them when 2 boxing WOW, a third for watching movies while I play and a 4th to do random surfing/QGL flaming. I might have a look at that program you suggested parabol, room is a precious commodity on my desk, especially with my new toy =)

You need to use a program called style XP which lets you fully change your setup too. PM me if you want the program and or the exact themes that I use as there are a couple thousand on that site (fully broken down into themes though).

Why the f*** do you need so many f***ing computers? Do they hug you and keep your warm at night or something, or do they make up for lack of friends? Honestly, you could have spent all the money you've spent on computers on building 2 ultimate computers that do everything...

I got the Dells through work, they do what I need them for and I havn't had a problem yet. Its not as if I went out and got all this gear in one day, I have been working on this set up over the years. The TV is old, and I wanted to get a new one but I don't watch as much TV as I use too, these days its all on the computers, thus the reason for the new 32 inch LCD. You may consider it to be a waste of money Protius, but it's my money to waste, and it's not a lack of friends, it's screwy working conditions that find me sleeping during the days and up til all hours of the night. In the end, it's my life and I'm happy with it =)

Ghosting is only a little bit noticeable to me in cs:s and dod:s using that 24" dell, but thats from coming from a 19" 8m samsung, and to me it makes f*** all difference.
as for how well it runs, you just need to make sure you have a good enough video card to run @ native resolution of 1920x1200, not sure about how smooth wow would run (I ebayed a while ago hehe)but source games are fine with 1 7800 so I would imagine it would be fine.

To be honest I'm glad the one I bought has the TV stuff built in, as it also doubles as my TV when not using the pc (I was in the market for a TV as well, as my older ones are crap, but then I don't watch TV that much so I could justify in getting this model).

http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/products/compare.aspx/30lcd_au?c=au&l=en&s=dhs

$700 more than my current one too, which I could handle but...

$3999 for the Apple 30 inch, I'd really have to see one of those in action before i spent that kind of money on one.

1360x768 is what I have atm. I wouldn't say it looks like 800x600 on a 19 inch (my other ones are 17 inch) but it is damn cool though, and as I said, hard to back looking at the smaller ones.

LOL, one day Tollaz0r!...one day.
The thing to remember here Lunch is that I didn't go out in one day and buy all this stuff, I've been doing it over a couple of years, a bit here, an upgrade there. And surprisingly enough all my systems have a use. Yes it might be good to have just 2 totally kick ass systems and save a whole lot of space, but I'm happy with what I have (well, maybe a little bit happier with another big monitor). Some people enjoy their cars, houses, musical instruments, gym set ups etc, I enjoy my computers. =)

Hey TK, What sort of security do you do? events/private security?

Although, whats the benefit of 2 boxing WOW, so you play 2 chars on one server so u can kill things quicker and get quests over faster? I don't get it?

Mobile patrols, alarm responses, escorts etc. I use to do ATM repairs a few years ago, but I didn't enjoy it very much, especially working on ATM's in service stations, with my back to the door, $20000 in my hand, and having dick heads comming up to me asking what would I do if they tried to rob me? Usually placing a hand on my gun was enough to get them walking away. =)
Thats pretty much it Tiny, when 2 boxing I would usually play one Tank type and one Healer type (with the healer on auto follow). I can usually take out mobs on my own with out the need to find groups. It just takes a little work setting up all the macros I need but then its all good.

My great ol Pioneer 106...never!

Pity about the ghey beige front plates on the Lian Li case but meh...couldnt be bothered painting them or getting new stuff.

I am really very happy with the new Phillips 22" monitor. It really has impressed me after having the good ol Sony 19" for so long but this Phillips 202p professional monitor is awesome. Uses BNC cables (had to buy a special lead) and well it can run at 1600x1200@104hz and that is awesome for BF2 ect..using the SLI setup inside. Luv CRT monitors...call me old fashioned but they do rock if you have ths space.

Actually no, its probably hard to see in the pic but the desktop is a highly polished laminate and the Logitech MX518 gaming mouse works perfectly on it.

Just had another look and you can see how polished the desktop surface is in the first pic, see the reflection of the joystick on the table top. The mouse doesn't even have a problem with the colour of the surface either.

Sorry to dig this s*** up, but finally got some snaps with the projector setup. Here it is:

My messy workstation. Selling the CRTs very soon and moving onto dual dell 19 lcds :D

And with the projector setup to the right of the workstation: (Note, not pornos, it's The IT Crowd :P)

Here's where the projector is sitting. Rigged up to my rig of course:

The unironed white sheet you're projecting onto makes it.

..care to finish the sentence? Makes it what?

Anyway, I just ironed the f***ing thing today haha, it's actually a dining table cloth, so it's been pressed at the cleaners to crease it like that, I did my best, and it's surprisingly OK.

As far as the Alpine White Les Paul Custom, that is indeed, the sex. :D As with my Fender Stage.

Thanksss.
