Blasts in Bali tourist area

EXPLOSIONS in a popular tourist area of Bali have injured at least three Western tourists and damaged buildings.
The blasts occurred along Jimbaran beach and in Kuta Square.

The area has been cordoned off and staff from nearby businesses told to leave the area, witnesses say.

A restaurant and neighbouring shop were damaged in one blast.

There is no confirmation of what caused the explosions, nor how many people were injured.

I feel for the Balinesse... They are the poor buggers getting reamed by this. They are almost entirely Hindu's not Muslims, and the extremists are (usually claiming to be) Muslim. Something like 90% of Bali's economy is tourism. I have been there heaps of times and the balinesse are very friendly people, but this re-occuring terror problem is goign to doom their economy and lifestyle.

Illegal drugs is 1 of the ways terror groups raise money. Hence stop the drug trafficers, stop terror groups getting funds, stop them doing bad things...

Nope, I don't recall saying they should be let off and I definately don't think they should. I just think killers should get death sentances instead of drug trafficers.

they first Bali bombers cant get death sentences because at the time they commited the offenses there was no law in Bali regarding what they did. The laws have since been implemented, but as with most if not all constitutions, laws cant be applied retrospectively.

Therefore, sentencing the orig Bali bombers under the new law would render their entire constitution worthless, and the old law either didnt exist or didnt call for the death penalty regarding terrorism

/or something


Also f*** drug traffickers and the entire market they represent (not that I wouldnt/havent hit that s*** and pass to the left)
