not really maxe, what can he do? if he shoots, then he hasn't got any reason why the police shouldn't shoot him? and once the dogs are released, you can't call them back.. he is gonna get bonned no matter what he does.. feel sorry for the hostage though.

That s*** is dangerous. The QLD police dog squad and the Correctional service dog squad can call the dogs from a victim with a simple command. Those dogs were actually biting their handlers as they were being ripped from the suspect. To me that seems a little dangerous in the fact that if the handler can't get to the dog to release the suspect some serious injury could ensue

Edit:. Still cool though :P

I loved the bit where the dog bit the swat guy trying to get him off the guy in that suit.

They need better control over their dogs, if they cant stop attacking on comand, then they could be MAD DOGS!!!

Oh ... they were just training vids ... no wonder none of the perps shot the f***ing dogs like any sane(?) gun toting criminal would have.

Teh dogs are pretty quick though, and they are probably released strategically too.

You'd think they'd have robots that could do this now.

Read in the last Wired that the US army now have these remote control robots that they're hoping will replace Marines for use in storming beachheads and stuff. They cost about $300,000 a pop, which I guess when you compare it to what it costs to train and outfit a soldier (not to mention pay him) to the point that he's ready to storm a beach is probably a fairly decent comparison.

Not only that, but robots don't mind when you zerg them towards bunkers filled with machine guns.
