Done. It's only available for the first 20,000 applicants. Hope I get it, because I'm a broke uni student and I'm cheap. :P

surely by 'anime freaks' you mean 'death tenticle whore raping people with sparkly eyes and blue hair who enjoy killing people with swords and knives and watching them bleed out in their arms while they cry' ?

That'd be pretty e-lite.

I should have explained what I meant a bit more when I said the Madman guys are awesome, to try and prevent dopey people from trying to f*** up their s***, but basically they're the only movie distributor in Australia that is apparently interested enough in promoting the movies they're representing, to their audience. I've been trying to source trailers from the main distributors for months and it is proving an ongoing saga / excercise in futility with most of them (though to be fair some are getting the hang of this whole Internet thing now), but Madman have had their A game going since day dot.

So, please don't screw with them just because you don't like anime.

(edit: I don't like anime at all, personally - I find it confusing and generally uninteresting)

I'm going to have to agree with trog again, the madman guys are awesome at what they do. And they use every means possible to do it. Their online website is fantastic, and they have a mini-site for everything they release (most anime series and some movies). explaining characters and story, with trailers, they rock.

And all of the dvds they put out are top quality (tho some of the dubs are just stupid americans).

Truely one of the few companies actually utilising the internet properly.

Well I just wanted a free dvd, so I just randomly clicked the survey and stuff.

And I am not an anime hater, I just don't like it (but it's free and exciting to get stuff in the mail :P)

Using "animation" as a medium to tell stories is confusing and uninteresting? oh ok.

I was defining anime as 'japanese animation', which I thought was the conventional usage?

I like the Simpsons, Futurama, Southpark and others just fine - I just haven't seen any Japanese anime that does anything for me. Akira? You can keep it!

technicaly "anime" is the short form of the Japanization of the English word for "animation", "animeshon". Which means effectivly all forms of animation or cartoon fall under the "anime" banner in japan.
