I have actually been hanging around QGL for some years now, but my time has gotten less and less >:

My question is: HAS ANYONE EVER BOUGHT FROM I-CENTRAL.

My following question si: Have you had any problems with this business, the owner, any abuse or harassment, ANYTHING.

I spent one month waiting for a 700 dollar machine after being lied to, ignored, put off, etc. I was then abused when I asked for a refund, sworn at, threatened, etc.

I wont give details here, but Im not prepared to sit back and take this. Further more, its not myself I am worried about - it is other customers who will be ripped off or abused in future. Allow me to briefly explain.

Through some research, and also meeting someone today who used to be friends with the owner of I-central, I have found he not only abuses customers, he also practices fraud in the business. I have been witness to another person being abused after asking for a refund as his product was not delivered after 2 weeks. I myself was abused, and was scared for my life. The owner, Troy Ellis, stepped up to me, and i took a step back, to which he said: "Yeah you better be f***ing scared bitch". I had been MORE then nice and patient as I didnt want to inconvenience the store. I had waited a month for this machine, and was abused for asking for a refund, told i was conning them, etcetera.

that is but ONE example. Trust me there's a lot more...

If you do a search on google for Troy Raymond Ellis, regarding Icentral, abuse whatever, you will find numerous links to some others who have experienced the same situation. Now meeting with someone who knows him today, it turns out the man has a history of stalking, violence and domestic violence, etc. In short, the guy is a nutter. He used to be in army intelligence (which I am looking into now as my partner is currently in army intelligence ALSO) and was kicked out, and as far as I have been told - due to his behavioural and mental problems.

I beg that anyone else who have ever had any kind of problem when dealing with this business based in Brisbane City, please contact me. Rest assured your details will remain anonymous unless you are willing for me to use your name as a witness or proof. Currently I plan on contacting Current Affairs and Channel 7, but will also be speaking to someone who knows him who is endeavouring to shut the business down and have the owner committed.

So please, if you have ever experienced problems of ANY sort, or harassment or abuse, speak up. This is not only because of what he said to me, this is also because the man should not be in business. And sorry but dammit Im not going to let anyone else be put in situations where they are abused or ripped off or receive faulty products.

Pissing on/in his store
getting a group of your QGL buddies to help you knock his teeth out ;)
Petrol bombing his car/office
Forging documents that make him think he's about to get audited/ has an arrest warrent on his head
Public slander/libel campaign
Sleeping with his wife/daugther
Making his wife (if existant) think he's having an affair

These are just a few things that popped into my head. Some are there for a laugh. Others are not. You can decide which is which. I like your idea of approaching Channel 7 idea. If that falls through, consider my list. If you know any wogs you could probably procure one of the above services at a fair price...

Id maybe try going back with a friend (if your intimidated by him) and one of you have a tape recorder on you and get what he says down on tape,then head over to the closest cop shop and hand it in.

Well, he already has my name on his invoice - the amount of times ive given them my number.. well if he wanted to track me down he could have done so by now.

Im aware of it, but then again I dont think I should really live in fear.

Well the thing is its not just me is the thing. I was on the phone one time calling for a refund, and i was put on hold - but they just put the phone on the table. Anyway yeah I hear this guy asking for a refund - consequently I recognised the guy from the SAME DAY i ordered my machine, and he was upset as it was 2 weeks and he didnt receive anything.

The owner abused the crap out of him also!

Thats the two factual situations I can give. I got a lot of information from someone who knows him today, about a lot of other people he's abused and whatnot.. so yeah... this isnt just about me, its about a whole heap of others who have been abused also.

not just the abuse, the lag time in delay time, the lying, bad business practice, faulty products..... the guy shouldnt be in business, plain and simple.

And yes Crizane Tribal, he intimated a female - even thats an understatement. Im a female, JUST TO CALRIFY :P

Here's a bit more of a list of the things he said that I can remember atleast. (I was pretty scared).

My advise isn't any of this covert BS, just put in a clear formal complaint to either fair trading, or the cops. Let the people with genuine power take care of the problem.

I've bought a couple of things from there and didn't have any problems including returning a faulty MP3 player (it was bought on the same day though). He said yah no probs, then just gave me a new one out of the other box on the spot. The player still work just fine until this very day. The MS mice that I bought them are still going strong.

I did have some problem with them earlier on though when I tried to buy ethernet cable from them. It took them a week to get one in and in the end I just can't wait any longer so I went back and asked for a refund and they gave it to me (though with some hesitant).

Other than that small snag I haven't had problem with them. From the sound of it, I might've been a lucky one?

The drama continues.

I have been told the owner has been charged with assault before by a customer. But this is a third part story rehashed from other third parties. I cannot 100% vouche for whether it is valid or not. I do know once that someone sent the computers in for repairs and they took the sound card out (I believe it was the latest Creative SB at the time) and they put it into another computer to test...to cut a long story short they never took it out of the old computer and apparently refused to give him a new one when they gave the computer with the SB to another customer (they had it in for repairs too).

i was going to buy a vid card from them a few years ago... the guy insisted i pay a deposit and i insisted he polish my nuts... he said he would email when it had arrived, he also gave me his MSN contact so i could contact him 'easily'... i asked him 1000 times on there if it was there yet (after a few weeks that is) and he stopped replying after the 1st 2 times... cock smoker obviously

and don't do anything from that list posted, they're all criminal offences that are basically more trouble than they're worth. if he arks up at you again, stand your ground and call the police.


ps. you should have called the coppers the first time he abused you. just remember, don't say anything offensive (or anything that could be considered offensive) to him either beforehand or in return, this often makes court cases a tad cloudy. just state why you're in there, and if he arks up let him know that you'll be returning with the cops to clarify the matter.

I dealt with this prick back in 2001/2002. I wasn't even buying anything from him and got embroiled in a possible court case with him.

I sent an email to his store asking about the specs for a monitor and his reply was something along the lines of "...are you stupid?" (wish I still had that email). So I replied to that harshly, something like "...why the f@#k would you reply to a potential customer like this are you insane? I won't be buying anything from you.", I was shocked by the reply coming from a business I was trying to spend money at.

Obviously, he then visited my work's website (evident from the email address) and sent a group email to everyone at my work describing how I had slandered him and recommending disciplinary action against me, he didn't mention that he provoked me. I had to explain to everyone what had happened, but he kept emailing work for a few weeks.

People like this need to realise that not everyone reacts to these events in the same predictable way. He has probably forgotten all about this incident, but I haven't.

Thats his style......he did this after an altercation with one of the guys at my work which ended up in getting the guy fired. I still have a copy of the email he sent to our suppliers/customers about it.

Also, the usggestion of me bringing my bf into the store - no. Im not going back there, nor is there any need. It's a simple case of putting my "case" together and contacting the right people about the situation. Going back there would be wrong, possibly dangerous, and would just cause more drama. Any legal person or department would advise me to never go back there anyway. If I did, it would be a really stupid thing to do.

I havent been there myself but a good friend of mine has been treated like that. He'd been buying stuff from there for ages and wanted to return something that didnt work.(cant remember what) Anyhoo.. he was served by some young fellow who i think refused to give him the refund for some reason so he calmly asked to speak to the manager. So the boss (who i assume is the guy u are talking about) comes out and is all like "how dare you f***in speak to him like that" and yells at him and stuff and tells him to get out of the store.

Although my friend is like 6 foot 2 and a big guy he's very calm and I know he wouldnt have done anything to prevoke this. I think he ended up putting in a formal complaint with the ACA and getting his money back though.
