No it's not. Religion is opinion and although hating someone for their opinion instead of understanding it and respecting their right to it, is a little ignorant, it is still completly different to hating someone because they were born a certain colour. Not saying it's right, just that it is completely different.

The only religious people I don't like are the condescending type or the preachy type, other than that I get along with people from all back grounds and denomonations. Except of course for black people because they steal TVs.

Democracy which many consider to be the foundation of modern civilisation is greek. Running water comes from ancient rome (pre christianity). Architecture, well the egyptians seem to have been ok at that, same with the romans, greeks and turks.

That isn’t entirely true. It is true that the Dark Ages are all about ignorance, and later the Catholic church was pretty dogmatic in the way they keep it’s people under it’s propaganda. However the forming of Christian states is probably the defining movement of solidarity that pushed Europe out of the dark ages and into Medieval history. Now that doesn’t mean that Medieval Life was less ignorant, or that the church didn’t rule with an iron fist :) but you can’t blame the dark ages solely on the Christians :D

Sure, religion has had a lot of wars fought in it’s name. Although if you look at the real root cause of conflict it is about greed: Greed of money, greed of land or even greed of pride. Real warfare solely based on religious fundamentalism is actually pretty rare, although when it happens it is really messy stuff. Even Israel vs. Palestine isn’t about religion, it is about land.

Pretty much all formulised religion can be argued on the exact same points. So maybe we should remove the individual naming of the religion and just refer to them all.
