after deciding i need some more inputs for my sound cards i whiped up this beast for under $25 http://users.bigpond.net.au/ibird/rob/live7.jpg empty bay http://users.bigpond.net.au/ibird/rob/live4.jpg patched bay http://users.bigpond.net.au/ibird/rob/live2.jpg early version of the bay patched into my guitar FX unit not bad considering a SB LiveDrive is over $100 and i dont have a SBLive anyway. if anyone else wants to give it a go jus ask me if u want to know more. |

i've got a onboard AC'97 and a C-Media A3D card 4x RCA goto the back jus using 3.5mm jacks(headphone plugs) for the 2 speaker outputs the XLR goes to the mic input and the 6.5mm socked goes to Aux in using those CD-Rom audio type connectors. the 3.5mm heapphone sockes are 1 output for each card using same on the other end the other 4 rca's are other aux inputs using cd-rom audio type connectors |

Does it have optical in/optical out like the Live Drive? Cause that's its coolest feature, you can record the optical out from another computer (for ripping sound ingame), and you can record audio to minidisc easily, without reaching behind your case. plus it gives you a nice place to plug in headphones. |

It's 8 input mono (4 stereo), 4 output mono (2 stereo) + both coax and fibre s/pidf, plus the midi in/out/thru. It connects to my pc via a cable that runs into the daughterboard which is joined to the soundcard itself via a short ide-type ribbon cable. I use a fibre cable for recording midi out and back into audio cos I can never work out how to do it internally in the software I've tried so far (la pro, cakewalk) - never actually used more than one input simultaneously yet cos it's just me sitting here playing guitar - I have no other analogue devices. |
