Indie developer S2 Games' latest effort Savage 2: A Tortured Soul is still plugging along and to stir up some more interest in the title, they're launching a couple of new promotions.

First up, for the week of July 21-28th 2008, all restrictions will be lifted from Savage 2 Demo accounts - ultimately meaning, every one can access and play the full game for free for the entire week.

Second they've launched a new Tournament System and are kicking it off with a ladder style competition with US$6500 worth in prizes.

Starting on September 13th, 2008. All Savage 2 Clans are free to join this tournament and get their chance to win the title of the top Savage 2 Clan!

The tournament series will include 3 $500 warm up tournaments, and concludes with two $2,500 tournaments.

If that's not enough, the Internet detectives over at newerth.com (thanks Robbo) have discovered a new Internet domain registered by the same company that looks after the Savage 2 site www.heroesofnewerth.com. The page offers no real details, only a single logo image. A teaser for the next S2 Games project perhaps?

FYI: there is no Aussie part of this tournament due to lack of players, so get people to join before September so we can stealz some moneys!

Just downloaded game, 1 aussie server up, empty....... 42 people playing world wide....

I didn't think that this free week would do much for the game. However there has been a spike in the number of accounts and the amount of people sticking around to play the game. Still low player counts (as in none) on the Aussie servers so far though :/
