Second up, this secrecy between QGL and thier members about what's going on is pretty lame. You know, us forum-participants might be able to help get QGL going, but I guess the admins don't want as much help as they can get..

Kinda sad that the 'customers' get left out of the loop.

Anyone else feel the same way, see if we can band together and get something active done about a qgl.. I'm sick of waiting and soon i'm going to give up on them alltogether

No, I think the admins want a qgl. I just don't think they want it as badly as the 500+ people who want to attend it.

I'm sure some QGL consumer's could probably help venue wise, or something. Maybe we could petition to ANZ/qld govt. or something. I'm just sick of sitting here doing nothing.. And because i hear nothing going on with admins, i assume nothing is happening on their end. If they can message me and honestly tell me they are trying, and a little of how they are trying, that's cool with me.. But i just feel left out of the loop and as an avid QGL'er that hurts me

1.) Earning enough money to FEED themselves and have somewhere to sleep
2.) Pass Uni Exams and not waste thousands of $$$ and time

3.) Host a lan for 350 grubby CS playing turds (other 150 are ok :D)

I think you'll find it's a hell of a lot more work than just 'admining for a couple of days' as you so casually put it.

There's public liability insurance to worry about, food stuff, prize money, organising a venue around a time when no one with higher priority wants to use the same place at the same time.

Instead of giving up why don't you organise your own 400+ player lan? go on I'd really love to see you try. Go find a sponsor to lend you network equipment, a place that will hold 400 people & supply enough power to still be safe. Organise public liability insurance so if someone trips you don't get your ass pounded by lawyers. Please be my guest go right ahead.

Theres nothing "secret" going on with QGL. We're not some clandestine covert group that is running some sort of cloak and dagger black ops thing that we want to keep hidden from everyone. There is just no dates/venues that are working out for us at the moment. Its being chased up, we're not sitting around doing nothing, and trust me, we're just as pissed off about there being no QGL for almost 6 months as everyone else is.

In the end it just comes back to when we know more, you'll know more. Sorry I can't offer you any more than that for the moment.

Its been said before time and time again, s*** dude get a clue. Do you, for one minute have any idea what is involved in getting this type of s*** organised. A huge effort to even pull one off let alone every month or two, in their own time, sacrificing a weekend ect..

I havent been in a while due to other committments but often I saw admin guys go the two days without even getting a game in, dealing with tards, quelling riots, feeding the masses, then having to clean up the pigstye left for them at the end.

I think they want to postpone the QGL because of the CS/BF1942 fights that will happen. They are probably waiting for CS to basically die so all the 13 year old randoms don't come.

While I don't agree with the private message thing it'd be nice to see an occasional official post about QGL. I know there are probably updates (like khel's) in the random "When is the next QGL" threads that pop up. But I must admit I don't read most of those threads :)
